The Sanskrit word chakra means wheel or disk.  In the yoga tradition, the human body has seven energy centers called chakras.  When these energy centres are healthy and open, so are we – physically, emotionally and in our relationships.  But, when they are blocked or unbalanced through illness injury, or disconnection from others, we are blocked from being our best version of ourselves.

Developed by renowned yoga teacher and founder of the Jivamukti Method, Sharon Gannon, we will explore the attributes of each of these seven energetic wheels from the root to the crown.   This practice takes an empowering approach to purifying the chakras as we move through a series of poses sequenced according to the chakra system.  By energetically inhabiting each of these energy centers we are able to address all our relationships and hone in on possible root causes of our emotional, mental and physical challenges.

More than a series of physical exercises, this is a complete mind-body-spirit practice as we utilise high intention, affirmations, andbijamantras (simple chants) that open and balance the chakras along with practicing physical asanas (postures).

This practice may instigate healing and re-balancing as we work through any blockages.You may feel a new sense of happiness, peace and wholeness as your energy blossoms and your prana flows more freely.This transformative practice can also lead to a change in perception, making way for discovering your true nature and improving your relationship with yourself and others.

Rooted in ancient teachings, chakra yoga is more relevant today than ever.
And at such a pivotal time in our lives when we’ve all been through, (and lived through) a global pandemic the last 17 months, having had numerous lockdowns and isolations at home – some people may be feeling somewhat disconnected from life, or from themselves and from others.

This workshop can help you to energise your body, calm your mind and lift your spirits, helping you to bring balance back into your life and enabling you to move forward with more ease, comfort and joy.You will feel a greater sense of peace and stability giving you the strength to go on.
