I’m delighted to announce that our guest pop-up teacher Maureen Howell will be sharing this transformative Jivamukti Chakra Balancing Class with you on Sunday 20 February 2022. 

It’s so important to keep body, mind, heart and soul together in order to be the true magnificent being you are meant to be and to navigate your way through life.   Self-care is imperative because you can’t give from an empty cup.  You must tend to your needs first and chakra balancing is one way to give back to yourself and to nurture your body, mind and soul. 

Maureen is happy to be leading this chakra balancing class for you which will help restore peace, harmony and balance to your whole entire being – mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually enabling you to move forward with strength and confidence in 2022.

The Sanskrit word chakra means wheel or disk.  In the yoga tradition, the human body has seven energy centers called chakras located along the spine in the subtle energy body.  When these energy centers are healthy and open, so are we – physically, mentally, emotionally and in our relationships.  But when they are blocked or unbalanced, we are blocked from being the best version of ourselves.

Developed by Sharon Gannon, (renowned yoga teacher and founder of the Jivamukti Method), we will explore the attributes of each of these seven energetic wheels from the root (at the base of the spine) to the crown (at the top of the head).   This practice takes an empowering approach to purifying the chakras as we move through a series of asanas (postures) sequenced according to the chakra system.  By energetically inhabiting each of these energy centers we can address all our relationships and hone in on possible root causes of our emotional, mental and physical challenges.

This chakra balancing class is a complete mind-body-soul practice as we use high intention and affirmations, combined with bija mantras (simple chants) that open and balance the chakras whilst practicing physical asanas.  

This practice may instigate healing and re-balancing as we work through any blockages.  You may feel a new sense of peace, joy, happiness and wholeness as your energy blossoms and your prana flows more freely.   This transformative practice can also lead to a change in perception, allowing you to discover your true nature, improving your relationship with yourself and with others.

Rooted in ancient teachings, chakra yoga is more relevant today than ever.  
And at such a pivotal time on Earth when we’ve all been living through some very challenging times.  Some may feel a bit disconnected from life, or from themselves and from their purpose as well as from others.  

This workshop can help you to renew and refresh yourself.  It can help you to reset and realign yourself – healing your body, calming your mind and soothing your soul whilst lifting your spirits.  You’ll feel grounded and stable giving you the strength and motivation to move forward on your path.  Inner peace will fill your entire being, enabling you to joyfully live your life with comfort, joy and ease.
